RICHMOND GERMAN AUTO REPAIR

Planning For the New Year

Welcome to December! It’s a time for holiday plans, for making merry, and for seeing out a very awful year and welcoming a new one. 2020 gave us pandemic, political polarization, job loss and homelessness, illness and death, a contested election, and gave back very little in return!

2021 currently has many of the same worries for us as 2020 did. We’re still in the midst of pandemic, until a vaccine materializes and even the poorest among us has it. Until that moment, we’re still in danger from COVID19. And the economy looks like we’re headed for a recession unless something changes soon.

When we plan for 2021, we need to plan for the things we know we can count on. You can’t count on a big graduation ceremony if you’re a student. You can’t count on your wedding happening if it’s a big one with a lot of guests and suppliers. We have to do what we can to downsize if we want to survive.

But we’re human beings. We owe it to ourselves to celebrate life, and to have courage for the road ahead. How can we resist surrendering to the dear, and yet, not fall victim to the pratfalls that 2021 may bring?

The answer is in downsizing. When we downsize things, we also make them more intimate. A downsized wedding becomes a smaller affair-- more intimate, with the guest list being reduced to immediate family and the closest of friends. That’s the way our planning for 2021 should go. We should plan smaller and more intimate, and keep the appointments we can keep.In our homes, and in our hearts.

And also, in our vehicles. Your MINI or BMW has probably been driven a lot less this year. The decreased wear and tear will help extend its life. We hope you’ve still kept to your inspection schedule, and that you will in 2021, as well. We want to do our absolute best to help you keep your vehicle for many years to come, and in this uncertain economy.

We hope you’ll partner with us on preventative maintenance for your vehicle in 2021!
