You can tour the historic mansion-turned museum, explore the arboretum and formal gardens, and even spend time with animals at the native wildlife exhibits, the nature center, and the Children’s Farm.
The Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden
From lantern floating ceremonies to children’s garden to even fun Lego exhibits, the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is a place of wondrous beauty that will satisfy the most enthusiastic outdoor cravings. You can dine here and even get in a little bit of shopping if that’s your thing too! You will find plenty of outdoor beauty among the 50 acres of themed gardens.
The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts - Gardens
The Robins Sculpture Garden boasts of a beautiful outdoor space as well as modern and contemporary works from Henry Moore, Aristide Maillol, and Oronzio Maldarelli. These are free to the public! Dale Chihuly’s Red Reeds, VMFA’s recent acquisition, can be found in the Anne Cobb Gottwald Reflecting Pool and is incredibly exquisite.
