What Do The Numbers Mean?
Let's start with the numbers behind the letters. It might seem like we will go in reverse order, but it will be easier this way. They range from 1 to 8; the higher the number, the greater the performance and luxury. For example, a vehicle with the number 4 will have fewer features than a model number 6. Now that we've covered the basics, let's move on.
A Models
Models beginning with an A are the most basic/entry-level vehicles. They still have features and comfort to offer, but their higher, more advanced counterparts have the upper hand. For example, the A6 is one of the most popular Audi models ever. While it's on the more affordable side, it still looks very good and has a decent engine.
Q Models
The Q models are SUVs. As with the A models, they start with the number 1 and end with the most advanced Q8 (the higher the number, the better the car). They are some of the most popular SUVs around the world because they offer quite a lot of space and a timeless, sporty design. S Models
Luxury and extras are the main selling points of the S models. They are an upgrade to the A series and also the Q SUVs (seen as the SQ series). They also have a slight improvement in performance and build quality.
RS Models
When talking about the RS models, it's almost like talking about a whole other brand. The infamous RS models are performance and luxury-oriented vehicles that scream Audi with their design. There are a lot of improvements here, so we will keep it short. Some of them reach 800+ HP and even come in an SUV version, the RSQ. They are an overall amazing engineering marvel, capable of everything you can think of.
