RICHMOND GERMAN AUTO REPAIR

Education

Are you searching for honest and thorough auto repair for your BMW, MINI, or Audi? Look no further than the auto mechanics at Bimmer Rescue. We are proud to be the go-to auto repair shop for drivers throughout Richmond, Short Pump, The West End, and The Fan District. We strive to do all we possibly can for our community, including offering opportunities for education. For current drivers looking to learn a little more about what goes on under the hood to aspiring pre-teen auto mechanics, we are here to help.

Why do you do outreach?

We want to educate you about the automotive industry. If you are ever in a situation where you need knowledge about auto repair, you will have it. For example, if you are a road-trip, and you get a flat tire, you know how to fix the problem. Also, we aim to make the automotive field a better, more welcoming industry for all genders.

Who do you reach out to and why?

In the past, we have partnered with several children's’ organizations, including Scouts of America and Girl Scouts. We set up many STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) workshops for children of all ages, but mostly ages of 12 to 16. We also host car clinics for attendees of all ages, so you can learn more about how to take care of your BMW, Audi, or MINI.

What do you try and teach these people?

Firstly, we want you to know more about how your car operates and understand what goes on in our garage. Also, if you are ever in a situation that deems auto repair knowledge, you know what to do to get out of the jam. For attendees of younger ages, we want them to know that there are careers in our industry where they can work with their hands and problem solve with their minds.  They don’t have to be big or strong to work in our rewarding industry, they need to be smart, hardworking and excited.  Anyone can do it if they put their minds to it!

How can a customer get involved?

If you are interested in organizing or attending one of our educational opportunities, we encourage you to contact us. We are more than happy with you to go over the details of setting up a class or informing you of any upcoming events. We love being a part of the communities of Richmond, Short Pump, The West End, and The Fan District, and our educational opportunities are just one way we go about doing so.

When’s the next one?

This answer is entirely up to you. If you know about 15-20 kids or women who want to learn more about auto repair, contact us, and we’ll plan an event.

For a firsthand account of one of our education opportunities, take a look at this recent 5-star review:

“I have been a satisfied customer of Bimmer Rescue for 3 years. The professionalism, knowledge and cleanliness of Bimmer Rescue should be enough to satisfy any BMW owner looking for maintenance or repairs. However, Patrick and his staff do even more! Their genuine commitment and love for community was put on display this past weekend. I asked Patrick would he be interested in facilitating a STEM workshop for my 10 year old son's organization, National Society of Black Engineers, Junior Chapter. Without hesitation, he said yes! In fact, his words were 'holy cow - yes!'. So on the past Saturday, Patrick came in on his day off and opened his shop to 14 young people between the ages of 9 and 15. His lesson plan was well-thought out, engaging and informative! The kids enjoyed this hands-on workshop and appreciated his hospitality as did the parents. I believe we could have a few master mechanics in the making because of this workshop! For these reasons and many more, I highly recommend supporting Bimmer Rescue!” -- Carolyn R.
